Fuel System Icing Inhibitors

FUEL SYSTEM ICING INHIBITORS

Free water contamination is a major issue in aviation. At high altitudes and/or low temperatures it can crystallize in aviation fuels and ultimately block fuel filters.

Our inhibitors act to prevent the formation of ice crystals, providing additional security in the event of free water contamination in aviation fuels. They are a mandatory additive in many military aviation fuel specifications.

FUEL SYSTEM ICING INHIBITORS dissolve sparingly in fuel, but easier in water. Any water present will extract the inhibitor from the fuel. The additive then acts to reduce the freeze point of the free water, preventing the formation of ice crystals which could block the fuel supply system.

The additives are suitable for use in either aviation turbine fuel (jet fuel) or aviation gasoline, subject to specification requirements and approvals.
