Cold Flow Improvers

COLD FLOW IMPROVERS

Low temperature performance issues of middle distillates can be defined by the following properties:
  • CLOUD POINT:  The temperature below which wax in diesel or biowax in biodiesels forms a cloudy appearance.
  • COLD FILTER PLUGGING POINT (CFPP): The lowest temperature at which a given volume of diesel type of fuel still passes through a standardized filtration device in a specified time when cooled under certain conditions. It is an indication of vehicle low temperature operability.
  • POUR POINT: The temperature below which a liquid loses its flow characteristics.
The key ability of a COLD FLOW IMPROVER is to provide significant flow improvement in all three areas.
